Allen Brothers, Inc., a roofing contractor based in Rochester Hills, has donated to the Lighthouse of Oakland County's Beacon Hope XIV fundraiser, in an effort to continue moving low-income families and seniors from crisis to independence. The Beacon of Hope XIV Fundraiser is Saturday, October 16, from 6 p.m. to midnight at the new Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan. Allen Brothers installed The Royal Park's slate and copper roof. Lighthouse and its subsidiaries help countless children, families and seniors find permanent solutions to the problems they face such as providing fresh fruit and vegetables to seniors during the winter months, helping clients secure transportation to work or school, and partnering with the community to rehabilitate and build affordable housing.
Robert Allen, president of the company, said both his desire to give back to the community and the chance to help families improve their lives appealed strongly to him. "At Allen Brothers, we've always felt a sense to give back to the community because the community has always believed and trusted in our services when called upon," said Allen. "The Lighthouse of Oakland County does great work. We are very excited to be part of such a worthy cause in such a beautiful hotel." The Beacon of Hope XIV fundraiser will be a formal dinner black tie event. There will be entertainment with the "The Peoples Choice," a live auction, a silent auction and a festive "Roaring '20s" theme.

Allen Brothers, Inc. has also donated to the Children's Hospital of Michigan's grand opening charity extravaganza, organized by the Robinson Realty Group, in an effort to raise treatment and research funds for children facing life threatening infectious diseases for the Children's Hospital of Michigan. The private charity will be held on the evening of Saturday, October 9th, 2004, from 7 p.m. to 12 midnight at The Renaissance Club, in the Renaissance Center of Detroit. The "M.C." for this event will be former UPN 50 anchor Amyre Makupson, and the keynote speaker will be Dr. Herman Gray, Chief Operating Officer of Children's Hospital of Michigan.
"Providing funds to help young children and the challenges they face each day are very satisfying to me and our company," said Robert Allen. "We are delighted to have impacted a child's life positively. We hope others will follow with additional contributions."
